Is the wood dry?
Yes, it is. The wood used by our company in houses building is dried until it reaches an 8% humidity

Does the wood crack or modify in time?
No, it doesn’t. Multilayered wood employed in Dorna Eco houses building neither cracks nor modifies in time.

What kind of carpentry do you use?
Usually, for the external windows and doors we use multilayered carpentery with double and triple glazed window and for internal doors we use solid sawn timber.

Is the wood treated?
Yes, it is. Wood is treated against fire, insects and mouldiness. For the fire treatment we use MAGMA FIRESTOP and for the mould fungus and insects we employ REZISTOL.

How does the external wooden wall behave on rainy or sunny days?
Because of the water based paint treatment and painting, the aspect doesn’t modify either the texture, or the colour.

How is the wood coloured?
Wood is coloured with translucent or dull impregnating agent, the beneficiary choosing the colour.

How is the thermal insulation done?
Thermal insulation is made of mineral wool or ecological insulator.

Can wood houses be used as houses for living in any season?
es, they can. There is the option for the house building to mount both external and internal insulation (0.15 W/sqm K) this way they can be used in any season. Generally, Dorna Eco houses are made for living.

How do the houses behave in earthquakes?
Dorna eco houses have an earthquake resistance up to 10⁰ Richter.

What are wooden houses shelf lives?
Wooden houses have a shelf life of up to 100 years. Dorna Eco House assures a 10-year-warranty and post-warranty service if the beneficiaries have responsibly respected the normal reqiurements of house maintenance.

How much time does it take from the contract signing to the house delivery?
Depending on the project, on the surface and the constructive type delivery time may vary from 1 month to 2.5 months.

Who authorizes the execution - the structure project?
Execution projects are authorized by our company’s engineers.

Who does the project for the Construction Authorization (CAA phase) ?
The project for the Construction Authorization may be authorized by an architect employed by the beneficiary or by Dorna Eco House.

Where can we see a house built by Dorna Eco House ?
At Vatra Dornei or we can guide you to the places where we built houses if you live in another region/country. The location of houses is identified on our website too. .

How much time does the assembly of a house take?
For example, for a Dorna Residence150 sqm house, we need 20-30 days, if there are 4 workers. For the same surface, in the case of Dorna Masiv constructive system, the KIT wood + carpentry version, we need the same period of time, 20-30 days.
